Technical Writer

It’s an exciting time to work at Cisco. Our software is lighting up Unified Communications and we seek a Technical Writer to help support our next generation of application software and services for communications including voice, video, instant messaging and social networking.
Work in a dynamic environment on Cisco’s Unified Communications applications, such as conferencing, mobility, presence, and soft client products. Strong emphasis on product and documentation usability for end-users and administrators. Opportunities to develop innovative deliverables like video quick starts and to hone your XML skills to promote reuse across products.
Plan, research, develop and deliver documentation. Responsibilities include a wide variety of complex writing and special projects: leading project teams; working with management to develop group’s technical direction; and participating in documentation improvement initiatives, including customer satisfaction improvements, usability testing, and document analysis.
Requires excellent writing and technical skills within the networking and communications environment. Experience writing for GUI-based products for administrators and/or end users is a plus. Proven expertise in the areas of technical writing, project management, resource management, strategic planning, leadership and team-building. Works with minimal supervision.

Typically requires BA/BS or equivalent experience, and minimum of 10 years of related experience.

Preferred: MA/MS or equivalent experience. Degree in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
